Newsletter July 20th, 2008

Hey all. I have to apologize that I just realized my July 13th post never posted per the blog. I went in to create todays' entry and saw that the 13th one was gone. There must have been a disconnect in the edit function. Regardless I am sorry and want to make sure that everyone has the prayer requests for Tim and Tony as they are currently in Honduras on their Mission Trip. Please pray for

-Weather

-Safety

-For the receptiveness of the people

-Felxibility

-Their Families

-Paitence

Tim was able to contact Jennifer last night from a sattelite phone and let her know that the people they are currently serving live off the land, have no electricity, no running water, and live in such remote areas, rarely, if ever, see visitors. Tim showed the people a photo of his famiy and they were shocked that their faces were on paper (they had never seen a photograph). They would flip over the picture to see how this "works". Tony and Tim will have some fantastic stories for us when they return. They should be home by Saturday and in class on Sunday, so pray for safe travel as well. The ladies of our class had a great time at On The Border this past week. We got to see lots of new babies as Dee Dee, Tara, and Shannon all brought their newborns, it was so fun! Our next Ladies Night will be near the end of August, more details to come. Todd Sanders is working on putting together the next Men's outing and again, more details to come. Also, more fun news, Allison and Jay Anderson are expecting their 2nd baby..yahooo!
One more quick note, I am leaving on the 4th for a mission trip to Ethiopia. I am currently working to raise funds to purchase a mattress for every bed in the 90 bed orphanage in Axum, Ethiopia. The mattresses are only $20.00 each (isn't that amazing?). The children currently are sleeping on boards wrapped in blankets and many sleep 2 to a bed. If you feel led, I will be collecting donations at class this next Sunday or you are more than welcome to send any donations via mail to
