Newsletter Apr 20th, 2008

Howdy all. This week our church is celebrating Transforming Your World. With seminars throughout the week, a variety of ministry opportunites to get plugged in to, and a finale of a Thirld World Banquet Sunday evening, 4/27, you have the opportunity to learn what happens when the "church leaves the building". Remember...NO WORSHIP SERVICES OR BFGs WILL BE HELD THIS SUNDAY, 4/27. Instead, sign up for one of the countless opportunities that have been created to "be" the church on Fri, Sat and Sun . Know that each evening during the week, and then on Sunday morning, there are a variety of semiars being held regarding missional living, stepping out to spread the Word, Global injustice, etc. Check the church website for a list and times of each. There will not be childcare for these so you may want to tag team with your spouse or another couple to allow each of you to go to one of the seminars.
Also, Our class will be heading to a Roughriders baseball game at 2pm this Sun afternoon. Bring a blanket as we will be sitting in the outfield. The kids will get to run-the-bases.
Melissa Shaver and Lee Ann Richardson returned from an amazing Mission Trip to Pennsylvania. Although they were held up a bit with their travels (they were stuck with the American Airline cancellations) they saw God in every step of their journey. See the left sidebar of this blog for a more detailed account of their experience.
This Saturday, John Richardson leaves for an Xtreme mission trip to Honduras where he and a group of men will be hiking into the jungles to reach remote villages to spread the gospel. For more information on XMA (the organization heading this trip) and to see video of some past
See below for specific prayer requests for John and his family
Kayla Whiddon is leaving in a few weeks for Sierra Leone, Africa, on a mission trip to aid a Women's Polio clinic. Lee Ann Richardson is organizing care boxes for Kayla to bring on the trip for the women of the clinic. There are 20 women at the clinic and 20 care bags will be created; one for each woman. They are looking for donations of travel size toiletries, shampoo & conditioner, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, shower gel, wash cloths, combs & hairbrushes, hair scrunches, and hair clips. Please contact Lee Ann to sign up to bring any of the above items to class. jdlarich@sbcglobal.net
